FAQs

Is This Holiday For Me?

Do I need to be an experienced dancer?

No, Viva Mallorca is suitable for people of all levels of dance. We offer a wide range of classes and workshops from complete beginners to advanced.

Is it compulsory to do the lessons?

No, you can attend as many or as few classes as you like. You may prefer to enjoy an afternoon at the beach, by the pool or have a wonder around the local shops.

I am travelling alone, do you have any advice?

We love welcoming solo travellers to our holidays and seeing them make new friends. Before you travel, be sure to join the Viva Mallorca Facebook event page where you can meet other travellers and arrange shared transfers. Single rooms are available however, we can arrange a room share for you and find this is a great way to meet your first friend. We understand that joining a large group solo can be a little unnerving so our best piece of advice would be to get involved in as many classes and activities as you can. We have very warm and friendly staff and teachers in resort who are always happy to join you at meal times and get you up on the dance floor during socials.

Do I need a dance partner?

No, lots of our guests travel alone, you will find plenty of people to dance with. We try to keep our holidays as gender-balanced as possible.

Health & fitness: There are no particular health or fitness requirements for our dance holidays. Guests are responsible for ensuring that they are fit and well enough to participate in classes and social dancing. If you are unsure you must always speak to an instructor or member of staff before participating.

Travel & Accommodation

How do I get there?

Flights and airport transfers are not included in our packages, we recommend checking the following airlines for the best deals: EasyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and Wiz Air.

Mallorca has one airport - Palma de Mallorca also referred to as Majorca or PMI

The hotel is situated approximately 30 minutes from the airport, the address is: Carrer Torrenova, 33, 07181 Magaluf, Illes Balears, Spain.

Transfers can be booked via the hotel website or with Hoppa.com. For the fastest transfer we recommend selecting the 'speedy' option, or a private car.

Taxis are easily available at the airport taxi rank and typically cost approximately €40 to get to the hotel.

Buses such as the A11 can be taken from the airport bus stop into Magaluf, but do not stop directly outside the hotel. Please be aware travel by bus will take longer and will mean an uphill walk.

What should I pack?

Be sure to pack your salsa shoes, for ladies we recommend that you bring flat shoes or dance trainers too. Comfortable clothing for the workshops is also recommended. Social dancing in the evenings and club nights will be very similar to your local socials so bring some dressy outfits. Keep an eye out for details on our themed charity night.

Evenings in October can get a little chilly so be sure to bring a cardigan or light jacket.

What documents will I need?

Travel insurance is a condition of booking our holidays, you must purchase travel insurance prior to arrival. Visas may be required for non-EU citizens. British nationals need a full passport to travel to Spain, there must be at least 6 months remaining.

Can I book a sea view room?

Sea view rooms are allocated on a first come, first serve basis. Book your holiday early to be sure to receive a sea view room.

Can I book directly with the hotel and attend the holiday?

Can I book extra nights at the hotel?

If you would like to book extra nights at the Hotel Florida to extend your stay outside of the Viva Mallorca Latin Holiday, you can do so via Hotel Florida’s Website. Please be sure to let the hotel know in the special requests section that you are an Azra Holidays & Events customer, so they can do their best to accommodate you. How much spending money will I need?

You may like to venture out of the hotel at meal times or find a beach bar to enjoy some drinks so be sure to budget for this.

Entry to clubs and venues is included in your holiday package cost but you may be asked to purchase your first drink on the door before entering, this will often be required in cash.

Money

Most places in the area accept major debit and credit cards but be sure to bring some euros with you just in case, there are plenty of cash machines close to the hotel.

Mallorca requires a tourist tax when staying on the island, this will be payable to the hotel on arrival and costs €3.30 per person per night.

We will update this section with new questions and answers as we receive them.
